Simple Van Alarm

Just fitting an alarm for the van  that i purchased a few months back

After reading the destruction list thought I'd pass the info on

Simple to fit -   Fit in Perm position or hang on a nail

Has two remotes one for Mum one for Dad

Has time delay to let you lock up and bolt out of the detection zone

Runs of 4 AA batteries  or a 4.5volt  mains supply transformer

Has socket for external siren which will run off either supply source.   Uncle Dick has them also.

One in a van add was going for $1100.00 obviously an all singing and dancing unit but no more a deterrent than a Dick Smith Unit for $49.00.

After all it's the noise that makes them bugger off empty handed and alerts  other  campers

All it needs now is an optional  death ray and  the jobs complete

Just love those electronic shops, for someone who can't eat sweets  it's my version of  a kid in a lolly shop

Looking for death ray, anyone got one for sale

Should have pointed out that 4.5 volt mains supply transformer is an optional not included in the pack but worth having for powered sites .

Must check out if the power goes down will the 4AA batteries take over or does one cancel the other. Get back to ya on that

I got one at Bunnings for $60 and it has the death ray aka strobe light bizzo, runs on 4 C cells 2 remotes. With a pop top I felt a need to deter ingress by bored kids with a stanley knife imperative. Sure makes a niose when you forget to turn it off.

I bought a largish round one from midstate MITRE ten, supposed to be the bees knees in alarms, about $120 from memory, put it in my shed to keep the burgurglers away, any change in temperature would set it off (normally at 2 in the morning) then the battery's kept going flat then the remote wouldn't work even after changing the battery's

went off one night too many, went out to see, nothing there, I give it a smack with a lump of 3x2 Baseball style, pieces flew into the corner never to see the light of day again little LCD light blinking out of the darkness at me, I went back to bed, no more trouble

I did PM you Wombat, but have not heard back, so I'll put it here. The Salesman at Dick Smith's said any movement inside the Van would set it off too. Have you had this problem?
Cheers,
xina.

The one I got is infra red activated and seems ok if the van shakes or the curtains move. But some are movement activated and the least little movement will set them off.
