An update from Bubs!

Hello fellow Grey Nomaders!
My first night away was at Willalooka, free spot opposite the roadhouse, and toilet plus hot shower! Mushrooms for breakky!!
I had two magic nights at Mannum, across the ferry at Bolto reserve. Highly recommended and free.
Went on to Pt Parham for two nights on the beach. Nice and quiet and free.
Waved to Dave06 as I sat in MacDonalds Pt Pirie to use the WIFI!!
On to Pimba .... Spuds Roadhouse, yes, free! On to Coober Pedy, under the big truck, free, for two nights whilst I did the touristy thing! Bought myself a opal ring for my birthday (tomorrow) and will tell my Sons they have to pay 1/2 each!!
I am in CP Primary school now, using, yes free, internet!!
I am heading up the track to ? tonight, but it will be free parking, and then on to Curtain Springs, Uluru, and the Western MacDonnell ranges!
I hope this has made you as jealous as hell!!!! I have met lots and lots of other wonderful travellers and last night parked with a group of 4 women and 1 man solos. I can't wipe the smile of my face!!

ah the fears of travelling alone, sounds pretty dangerous to me, so why didnt you give me a hoy when you were down at maccers, we could have had a laugh or three

never mind 11 days and we are off as well, but only for a week (houseboat at echuca) and then the next is the alice via uluru to meet up with about 30 people new to camping

Good on Ya Bubs
Sounds like you are having a ball and am not in the least jealous,we done where you are at , late last year,
Make sure you fill before heading off the Sturt to Curtain Springs, the cost of diesel was the highest in the trip at around $2.25 per litre
We stayed at the park there as it was a halfway point tween the Rock and Kings Canyon
Also watch for the emu hell walk into the van if you let him, ------the showers are $2 a pop

Hi Bubs, as another ex pat Kiwi, good luck with your adventures, love to chat sometime about where you came from, where I came from etc, etc.

Don't make the same mistake that Mike made, whilst visiting King's Canyon, decided to help the local economy and buy a didjeridoo at the shop at the caravan park, well that was fine, till on the way home he suggested that I read some of the instructions to him to help relieve the boredom of the long drive back to Curtin Springs, just jokingly I said, wouldn't it be funny if they were in Japanese, and guess what they were!!!!! Did not even look when we picked up the booklet, so the didjeridoo sits in the lounge in it's bag unplayed as yet!!

On a brighter note, King's Canyon is a great place, well worth the effort, go right to the end, easy walk, if you are fit, you can do a harder climb, we chose the easy walk, spectacular rocks etc.

I can't play one either, but they tell me you just purse your lips and blow it like a trumpet. You're really good at when you can circular breathing - blowing out while breathing in.
