Recently stopped for cuppa in Goomeri, NE of Murgon, W of Gympie. A local approached me and said I was welcome to stay for 20 hours. This is a new initiative by the council to bring in money to the town which is attractive and in a great area. Camping is behind the information hut, near the oval and there are toilets close by. They hope to upgrade soon, but I liked it as it was.

I normally stop there to go to the local butchershop, just up from cheese world. Best wurst, and I am not much of a meat eater.
Pity they do not have a web address/email contact, as I would congratulate them on the inititive. Only address I found was for the Gympie Council. May shoot something off to them anyhow, and see if it gets to the right people
If we acknowledge these ventures, then it only helps us in the longer term.
