Have followed the thread of retirement with interest and have so far refrained from making any comment
The time has come !Why this way and not a personal email?
I think it is relevant to us all, What a lot of the people have not noticed?, Or been aware of ?, or maybe that is wrong ?, and we are all aware , is the inability to guage the persons feeling from the written word,
Unlike a fireside conversation where you can SEE the persons body language, hear the emotive , the strength off, the passion of the statements they are making ,this medium falls down badly, that is why I refrain from writing too many words that are controversial,
I prefer it face to face,
Having met a few GNs now, they are all much aware of the contribution you have made, and I think that any man who has the time to read and to write so much, you must have a lot of time on your hands to think,
With 2 councillers in my immediate family, and closely involved with kids!!,( one of my best mates is a 43 year old Down Syndrome) who have disabilitys from the norm, I understand how the pressure can get at you , But you are in error for allowing it to get this far,
I know you will be reading this forum from time to time, and may I advise you to chip in once in a while ,
Its an addiction which I classified as a good one, but like in all things moderation must prevail,
We have all been in a situation where two people have read the same thing, and come to two different conclusions. The words were the same, but our interpretations differ.
I find it best to ASK nicely, if my interpretation is what was meant, not just assume. Most times I am wrong, and the writer can see how it could be taken that way, and adds further explaination. This is what happens face to face as Mike says, so use it here, if you think it to be upsetting. Helps everyone.
To Dave, life has a way of sorting itself out, you will be missed, and I too, wish you would chip in, as and when you feel like it.
