Well we thought they were an endagered species these Grey Nomads, we have been on the road for 8 weeks now and met many travellers who meet the criteria of being a GN, but when we have asked them if they are a member of the grey nomads website it has always been met with a blank look on their faces.
however.......That all changed today
..............yes we finally met a real LIVE Grey Nomad!!!!! When we saw her setting up camp we both got the 'vibes' she was one of us you know, friendly, sense of humour, animal lover, can't remember what she did five minutes ago, fitted the criteria perfectly. So we went to talk to her and when we mentioned GN's website she said YES she was a member.............whoohoo!!! she probably thought we were a little mad as we got a bit over excited at meeting our first GN!!
But after all we have travelled all the way from West Australia and it wasn't until we got to the Gold Coast that we actually met one!
So Xtrail51 as she is known here, joined us for happy hour and it was great, we are here for a few days so is Barb..........yes we are even on first name basis!! will hopefully join us again for happy hour, we will even provide some extra cheese for Molly, her beautiful dog!
It's a nice feeling to meet another GN. I had a visit from Gary and Kerry this week, and chatted travel over a cuppa. I've also met NannyMon and Xina, on their visit to Cairns. I figure if I stay here long enough I'll get to meet many GN's who pass this way. There's always a cuppa available at First City Caravilla in Cairns. See you soon. Cheers Chris

No. My visitors walked over to the park with no car, let alone sticker in sight. I meet a lot of travellers who are not yet aware of GN's, but I soon change that.
These posters are soon to be installed on the car and van windows.
It is special to meet other like minded people, and we sure are like minded. As for other happy hour visits, try keeping me away! And of course Mollie would love more cheese, but the lap cuddles were great!. A pleasure to meet you Sue and Brian!!!

To other GN's who might be wondering ...... we gave Molly the dog a "lap cuddle" - not Barb ... we're very friendly people but not THAT friendly!! .... well not on the first day we meet a Grey Nomad anyway!!
