"The Notebook"

Who carries a supply of DVDs with them and how many times do you watch a movie,
We watched "The Notebook last night" James Garner and Gina Rowland  on the subject of dementia, a 10 tissue movie set in the early 1900s ,
When it was finished we went to bed and a coupla hours later got up and watched it again
Amazing how much you miss on the first showing
Listen to  " Billy Holliday" and "Jimmy Durante" singing ,"I;ll be seeing you"

I picked up one of those $40 DVD players. Have around 50 DVDs including a full set of the 'Yes Minister/Yes Prime Minister" in a pouch with it in the cupboard under the TV.

We watched it once to make sure that it worked but never since. If ever I get around to converting my travel VHS tapes & State of Origin games to DVD we might use it more.

But the grandkids love it and use it all the time when we travel together.

I found those $2.00 DVD's from Tandy or Tricky Dickies are good value on rainy days or when there's bugger all to watch on the real time TV. Most have two flicks on the one DVD and if they get heat on them nothing lost just bin it , Pic and sound quality is good.

We bought a LCD TV from ALDI and it has a DVD, SD and a few other things built in. I agree a dvd is good when you just want to put your feet up, relax with a smooth port.....
Though we have Dad's Army and Mother & Son we still like the classics, I take Cassablanca everywhere.

Mum and Dad was leading us kids throught the Casbah in Cairo back when we were kids coming to oz land, and this dirty little boy came up beside Dad and tried to sell him playing cards with pictures of "ladies" on the back,
When I watch the movie Casablanca" it triggers the same memory,

Been looking for mine all day, the mind that is, just can't remember where I left it.confuse.gif

Memories are great, whenever I watch the movie I remember going from house to house collecting empty cold drink bottles to take to the shop so I could afford the price of the ticket so I could go and see Ingrid Bergman.

I recently bought a cheap copy of Lucy Ball in the Long Long trailer. Hadnt seen it in years and enjoyed it on a recent rainy weekend in the van.

Wish my trailer was as big as hers. No wonder my hubby keeps checking what Ive packed in the van.

My darling had rocks under the bunk in our first caravan.

I have a good collection of MASH series. A few DVD movies, but I don't sit still long enough to watch a movie. The Devil Wears Prado and several animated features like Ants, Ice Age etc. I just love 'em.
Something to do on a crappy day, but otherwise they're standing by for future reference.

When I was in Mt. Isa a few weeks ago, Crazy Clark had a special deal - DVD movies for $2 each. Most of them were actually double-headers and I bought 30 (which gave me about 50 movies). I play them on my laptop when I'm out of normal TV range and don't feel like reading a book
