Hi Katrina, Welcome to the forum. Gosh you guys are so slack how about a welcome for Katrina. She must think we are all so rude, they are not normally like this Katrina, guess it must be the weekend keeping them all out doors or something. I guess the best way to find out what we all have been up too is to read the solo posts, yes I know there are lots of them in there but some good info. Ask as many questions as you like as it give us something to go on. I think it is just a matter of getting on the road and taking each day as it comes. I found that if I talked to fellow travellers they were happy to part with info also. I mostly approached couples. Never men alone. I also free camp sometimes with Bob sometimes alone but never out on the open road when alone. I always stay in town somewhere where there is a nice park, I find that safer. I did try a caravan park twice but did not like it. Have a quick look at my earlier posts, around page 5 I think. Under the name of NannyMon. Please feel free to PM if you wish. Take Care.
Thank You so much Monica...Thought for a minute that I really was doing it Solo..I really appreciate your advise. I loved reading the posts different ones had posted ..lots of really helpful info..will keep in touch if thats ok warmest regards Katrina xx
Hi Katrina big welcome from us as well. I am sure you will receive all the help you need from the soloists on this forum. If you can tow the van yourself, then the hardest part is over. Take your time and as Jon said enjoy.

Welcome from me too Katrina. I'm still relatively new to actually doing it. Made a few trips [Short ] after Monica got me started, and prefer to free-camp. Had no problems so far, exgept for having to save periodically for fuel for the next trip. Can't wait to get going again. I really do think I'll just sell the house and go on the road permanently. Any-one want to buy a Dome house near Yeppoon in Qld? Cheers, xina.
Thanks xina ...... I have noticed that most of the Solos are from the eastern states.... wish there were some from South Aust...especially some tag alongs .. would be great.
Hi there and welcome. While it may appear most of us are on the eastern side of the country, some of us just happen to be parked here for a while. I have been around with and without the caravan, and am currently in Cairns. I'll resume my travels some time soon. You just never know where you'll meet another Nomad. Watch out for the Grey Nomad Sticker, to spot your brothers and sisters in travel. Safe and happy travels, Cheers Chris

thanks chris..can you tell me where you get the stickers from please..I will keep an eye out for other nomads with stickers....would love to get hold of one
Well now "Escape", Bob's answered your question. You can display the sticker with the rest of us. Now they're also chatting about flying a grey ribbon from an aerial or something prominent so we can see each other coming and going. It's all good fun. We're like that here. Help each other out, support and back each other up, and share our experiences and advice. We seem to have a strong comeraderie here on Nomads. I'm originally a South Aussie, but I've done a lot of travelling by air, land and sea, with and without the van. I spent 11 yrs in the Kimberleys and I'm now on the road full time. My first "short" trip with the van was when I drove from Broome to Nowra to pick up my "new home", and tow it back to Broome. "Around Australia In 25 Days". After 12 mths of setting it up how I wanted it, I drove to Cairns via southern WA, the Nullarbor, Great Ocean Rd, Canberra, Gold Coast - oh, you get the picture. I have more miles to go yet. Life's an adventure, and I've got a lot of living to do. Catch you out there on the road sometime. I'll be watching your progress on the GN's. Safe travels. Cheers Chris
