Trainee Grey Nomad

Hi all,
Have been reading in here for a while (since Jan/Feb) now finally signed in. I (we)
are going on leave in about four and a bit weeks for 2 - 3 months and hitting the road.

We have a 1989 Prattline 13ft. pulled by x-trail.  Have been on a couple of trips in last 2 years from one to three weeks duration.
We have family in mid north Qld and usually head direct to first stop in Mackay, but
this time we are going to take our time and see some of the places on the way e.g.
Tin Can Bay, Hervey Bay, Bundy area and 1770. Then after family will go further up
possibly Cooktown and then wherever the nose points.
Have been up as far as Port Douglas but didn't spend time. Stayed at Diggers Creek Caravan Park at El Arish both times up and back, not flash but very comfortable, just how we like it , and dog friendly for our Bonnie (Part Poodle / Scottish terrier). As we are not self contained we usually stay car/parks but not against free camps (camps 4 on board).

Been up and down the Bruce Hwy ?? lots of times but would be happy to have your thoughts of places off the main road in areas mentioned above.

As you can see I like to chat.  Thanks in advance, see u on the road.

Ed

Welcome to the Grey Nomads forum Ed & Co.
If you have a plan, forget it. The trip will determine where you'll call in. Just enjoy the trip and the places you visit. I've done most of the places you've anticipated visiting in the past 15 months. and am currently parked up in Cairns.
Safe and happy travels, and don't let the Bruce Highway get to you. Take your time.
Cheers Chris

hi edco.           i see that you have a xtrail.         have a trip over to fraser island,  the largest sand island in the world, the fresh water lakes are very beautiful.  rainbow beach is another beautiful spot, the wind in the sandhills sounds as if someone is singing.  dont miss it

Hi Edco,
Welcome to the Forum, there is a lot of this country apart from the east coast, if you have kids,(dogs) give em a treat and head inland to the bush,
