Bed Bomb

A word to the wise on how very little petrochemical vapour is needed to do an awful lot of damage.

http://www.abc.net.au/news/stories/2009/07/16/2627129.htm?section=justin

Anyone remember the deaths and injuries that used to happen to people cutting up "empty" petrol drums to make into BBQs?

The residual petrol in the folded seams of the drums provided enough vapour to make a big bomb just waiting for an ignition source.

I still have nightmares when I recall cutting up a 1000 ltr LPG bottle to make it into a wood burning stove, even though it was empty and had been filled with water I still had the heeby geebies when the Oxy Torch started to cut it.....

Had a mate serving with me in Malaya who had three natives steaming out the fuel vapour over night before he hit them with the gas axe to make BBQ's. Did 4 in the morning and it was still thirty minutes till lunch so thought he would do another , natives had only steamed 4 . 12 months in hospital back here and untold skin graffs later , must stay out of the sun an bright light for ever.

When those tanning tabs came on the market in the 70's he thought that it would give his skin a bit of colour other than stark white/ pink . Sure did he went Orange and Pink took months to get it out of his system. We laugh about it now but not them

Some would consider it interesting "sniffing" though.
Oops!  I think I've gone too far.
"Blow up" could take on a whole new meaning.
