GME-AE915 antenna ..

Hi folks ..

Among my searches I have become interested in the GME AE915 antenna which was actually designed for NextG/CDMA/and WCDMA and specifically used by Telstra on the 850 Mhz band .. it was a fold-down antenna designed for marine use, but many swear by its performance on land vehicles also ..

It seems that it is now a 'redundant' antenna in GME's books, as I have not been able to locate any reference to it under their searches.

Do you use one .. or maybe you know if they are still available to purchase through some other retailer ..

any info would be appreciated !

Jon

Henry's Radio Centre in Albury Wodonga. He sells them around $120.00 and Posts them out in a cardboard cylinder for another $20. They're not, in fact, out of manufacture. GME are now getting ZCG Scalar to make them under licence.

Hi Michael ..

Just to let you know that I have been in touch with Allen at Henry's radio centre and will in the not too distant future be heading down there to get some work done ..

thanks for the lead ..

No Worries, Jon. You'll find the antenna very useful in the Backblocks and the only improvement you could have is a Yagi but these are Directional so you must know which way to point one (know where the Tower is). Most of the time you'll find that you don't have to bother standing the GME up - you'll have great reception with it laying down in the travel position.

Michael.
