Hi everyone, I have just joined this forum. I will be semi retiring at the end of the year and can'twait todosome real travelling. We are on our second van now (the first purchase proved to large for us) and have made about 10 trips in all of verying lengths. We are off from Adelaide to Darwin in two weeks time for a 6 week break. Looking forward to some longer trips away next year with north central Queensland in oursights. What little wehave done so far has really opened our eyes to the life. We are looking at purchasing a Yamaha generator. Has any one had experience with these. Regards
G'day Geoff and welcome to the forum, sometimes a wee bit smaller van is the right way to go, I have seen some monsters that can only get into certain spots in van parks and they are not game to take it into free spots, not the way to go for me
6 week trip, you will have a ball, make sure you go to the markets, they are an eye opener in themselves, the navy base is alway a good look as well
I've known a few people who has the yamaha genny and they seemed pleased with them, certainly didnt hear them complaining anyway so I assume they would be fine, like anything it is probably a rebadged whirlymctrigger anyway, one factory = 20 models
And a great big welcome to you Geolin. As you can see from our itinerary we are heading to all the main spots so yes, we may meet for a lemonade or something. Keep an eye out for a Blue Patrol with a Galaxy Odyssey hung on the back. Would be pleased to meet you. Half way through my shift now and only tomorrow to go. Yes I am wishing my time away but in this circumstance I think its OK. What do I look for on the road to spy you? Drive carefully, see you up thehighway.
Terry.

So now we have 2 newbies on Nomad. Welcome to you Geolin and also to you Terro. It seems Grey Nomads are everywhere around this country. Some are already on the road, and others are flat out dreaming and planning to get on the road. We just have to keep a look out for fellow nomads. Fly the grey ribbons and "wear" the stickers the Webmaster is only too willing to issue - even 2 at a time. One for the tug and one for the van. I'll be watching for you. Cheers Chris

Hi Geolin, Unfortunately we will be in Coober Pedy for one night on the 12th, shame that. We will be departing Yulara on the 16th. However we will be in Alice Springs from the 19th staying at the Wintersun Top Tourist park for seven nights. Will make a note of your rig and keep an eye out for you.
Terry.
