Whitworths [ the Marine people] have 12 volt Blow-dryers, with fold-up handles for easy storage. 2 models, one for $19.9, and a Delux model for $25.95. Not sure if they're in other States. This lot's in Qld. Just Google 12 volt Hair-dryers. Cheers, xina.

yep we found the same, the dragon has one that doubles as a mini clothes iron, comes in two peices that very cleverly clip together, very handy thing but she cant use it, too much power requirement
if you use the dryer for 10 minutes then going by the average alternater replacement voltage it would take about an hour and a half with the engine running at 1500 rpm or better just to replace what you have used
it would also depend on the size of your solar panel as to how much the hair dryer would take out and how long it would take to replace the useage remembering that the dryer is not the only thing drawing power
the dryer is a very heavy consumer of power, surely the sun would do the same??
we found them not to work too good either, I guess if you were driving from one place to another and had the engine at cruising speed then it would be okay, most of these things are little more than gimmicks I have found
