Didnt even think about the last school hols, when we headed off for Cape Range and Karijini National Parks. They were packed (No room at the Inn stuff)

Got into the overflow at Cape Range and found it was to our liking. only room for 5 vans, quiet and great views. So we stayed for the week.

But Karijini !! managed one night in the overflow, which was like "overflowing itself" must have been 50 vans including a couple of school parties. But to everyones credit, was quiet as the grave by 2200 hrs.

Nice to see all the kids and families doing the outdoor thing together.

But when we can choose our camping trip out of school hols it,s so much nicer.

Also avoid Coral Bay and Kalbarri in school hols. Close enough to Perth, but far enough to get away for the short time. All those kids! Love 'em, but they do make a racket and take up a lot of space. Cheers Chris

And run through and around your awning/tent tripping over the ropes (ok if you want a torn annex/tent) playing "chasey" or whatever they call it these days. Love kids, but at my age prefer non school holidays if I can, different matter if you have kids/grandkids with you on holidays, they will have plenty of kids to play with.

Thanks Vic, unfortunately I landed in the thick of it. I tend to avoid popular spots. And even they have been crowded this year.

Mike and Ellie, I will go back up to Karinjini - and often I find overflows are better anyway. 'twas thus in Exmouth. - Bloody place is full of holidaying West Australians!

watch the free camps at that time of year as well, the buggers come out of the ghetto, oh sorry "city" and just let the ****roaches, oh sorry "children" run wild

they throw used toilet paper everywhere (dont bury it used or not), dont cover up their little "mounds", dont clean up the rubbish they bring with them, and try to climb every damn thing with their puddle jumpers and motor cycles then theres the "dooff" dooff" music or noise for the lack of a better description

some city folk and their spawn should be banned from the bush until they can behave in a civilised manner

come to think of it some folk should just be plain banned from anywhere

In a ideal world everyone would treat the terrain and everybody with respect.Unfortunately we don't live in an ideal world.So we become tolerant and non-judgemental over the things we cannot change.If we don't like it we have the freedom to choose to move on.
To ask the parents to monitor their children would cause camp rage. To chat the kids about their behaviour would cause the parents to bring on the camp rage.
To say anything would cause "camp rage", and we don't want that, do we?

as I say some folk should just plain be banned,

my kids were taught never to annoy the other campers, I stuck to designated "off road" tracks with my mudslingers, but the modern generation (or some of them) dont want to belong to a respectable population

problem comes when the authorities get sick and tired of the wanton destruction of these hooligans and simply shut the camps down, camp rage or no camp rage the camp is gone
