Steering Wheel Covers.

Does anyone know where I can get a non-leather Steering Wheel Cover larger than 430mm.?
Trying to find one for the Hi-ace, and am coming to the conclusion that I'll have to make one myself.
If they aren't commercially avalable, that must be a good market for some-one who has the drive to do it.    [NO PUN INTENDED.]
Cheers,
xina.

Thanks Dave. I got fed up after wasting over an hour on the net. Even the Toyota site was confusing and no real help.

Kenmarg, I should have expected someone would have a whacky sense of humour.
Cheers,
xina.

If you investigate further Xina you will find that Ken is partially right.

The close fitting steering wheel covers are ok.

It's those big bulky ones that void your insurance and as Ken said the Police allege that you are not in full control of your vehicle.

Hi Ma.
Wow, I didn't realise they were being serious. I wasn't after Sheepskin or anything like that though. Just a fabric one that fits close. I just want one that won't get too hot in the sun. If I can't find what I want, I was thinking of making one out of Towelling, or a winter fabric.
Cheers,
xina.

I think as long as it is a very snug fit and is attached to the steering wheel in such a manner that it won't move at all it would probably be ok.  Don't take my word as gospel though, I would check with the insurance company as well.  You don't have to give your name, just make a general enquiry.

Well, I'll be making my own. My local Repco man tells me nobody makes cloth or other covers to fit Hi-Aces. He says the only ones that MIGHT fit, are the Leather ones you lace on. Don't want them, as they'll still get too hot in the sun.
If any-one gets the urge to make some money, the circumference is 48 inches.
If I was younger, I'd give it a go myself, but I want to do other things, not be attatched to a sewing machine for months on end.
Cheers,
xina.

They mak 'em for 14 inch and 16 inches across apparently, but not 15 and a half inches across.
Cheers,
xina.
