Back home...unfortunately

We just arrived home from our trip up North (we live near Albury) and how I'm wishing we were still there, as its cold n wet here, and I see its 28c in Brissie!

For our first trip though we did have a great time apart from blowing a tyre and nearly blowing up the engine having lost a radiator cap (but thats another story lol).

We spent most of our trip along the costal area (ok, I can hear the groans) but as a country girl I was desparate to get some ocean air..at least this time.

Spent several days with Ken/Marg who generously opened their home to us and not only did Ken entertain us with stories from his truckie days he also gave us heaps of tips about destinations etc..thanks again friends!

Although we did use CP's we also visited a number of off-roads including the one near Yandina, & Appletree Creek (near Childers) and various others that I've forgotten their name.
Wanted to visit my sister at Noosa but they had no room, so hubby had a good idea and rang the sea-scouts. For a small fee they allowed us to camp in their grounds and use their facilities...and its right in town.

Generally though we tried to avoid the big towns as we got the most pleasure in the smaller places and found the friendliest people, Sue

Actually Dave thought seriously about doing just that ...turning around and going back up....but, youngest daughter is getting married in eight weeks and there's the usual 'wedding craziness' going on and she would be horrified at us disappearing again lol.

We will do the next best thing tho - have some weekends away locally...just waiting till it warms up a bit more. Sue

thats the trouble with having family, they "expect" us to be there for the important stuff

we had my neice (my "other daughter") whingeing because the dragon couldnt attend the hen's night, hell I thought that was for the youngsters, we are off to uluru and bugger her bloody hens night, wanted me to go as well, pigs freckle, not with that mob of clucking bloody women

she's getting married in october, we are due for another break, cant see why we got to be there, she's lived in adelaide with the bloke for 18 months, they've bought a house together and have a little kiddie, hell what else does she want

she wanted me and not her real father to give her away at the wedding, I had to say no at that, couldnt imagine me walking her up the aisle and her real father sitting in the background

i had to laugh, she's going to wear "white", I told her it should be dark purple with dirty great yellow spots, she didnt think that was funny

never mind just makes the next trip sweeter

wouldnt miss "the big occasions" for quids, regardless of what I say
