I dont know alot about them i did look at buying one on ebay too but i didnt like the handle and the motor where it was i ended up buying a 80 litre waeco dairy fridge and freezer off ebay they threw a cover in too i very happy with it
I started looking at Evakool as I'm also interested to get a small fridge/freezer .. From comparisons (on the net) they are a little cheaper than both Waeco and Engel .. and there are also positive reports on their performance and reliabilty as with the other two .. Probably personal preference will weigh in favor of the 'chosen' ..
I believe that Evakool and Waeco both use a 'Danfoss' compressor which has proven worldwide to be a top runner in efficiency and longevity, but as I enjoy HF Radio comms as a hobby, I will put my preferences toward an Engel as they present a lower level of interference to my communications interests. Thats not to say that the newer models on the market have not improved the suppression to their units .. which could be the case. Its a question you can ask when speaking to a distributor ..
Hi Garry,Kerry. I do not know much about Evakool but from my own personal experince i find Engle to be the best mine is a 60 Litre i have owned for 15 to 20 years and have no trouble what so ever. The Danfoss Compressor is the best on market. But with so many to chose from it will be personal choice.
Hi I bought one of these it hasn't got all the pretty lights that waeco and engel have but it has the same compressor and internals only the box is different i got mine delivered for $790 for 70 liter size.If web site doesnt help try David Cotteril he is aussie distributor for them 0265558176 i bought mine of him.Very quick postage and excellent service when i needed a part which broke because of my own fault.I have taken the fridge camping in a tent at 40c plus and it worked fine running of car battery
the evakool is a very good fridge freezer and it does share it's compressor motor with waeco
it has about the same powewr usage as engel (around the 2 - 3 mark per hour) and is a little bit cheaper
if price is all that counts then go and grab one, me I'll stick with engel, has never let me down all over the country for in excess of 30 years in some of the roughest and remotest parts of our great country
Hi Stefan, I phoned David Cotteril to day and he is going to send me more imformation on the fridge/freezers he sells .i am intrested in the 50 litre one. What do you use it for: a fridge or mainly freezing. How long have you had it and do you run it off 12 volt/240. Can you give me any idea on consumption on 12 volt. And i would apprecite any other information you can supply.
