Hi Bradbury We left Tassie on the 12th May on our adventure and so far has been good. We are in New South Wales at the moment at a place called Casino. Sorry cannot help you with Ballarat Caravan parks as we never went that way went through Shepparton and up through Parkes and Moree so could help you with those if needed. Have a great trip and happy safe travels. The park where we are now is great(Casino RV Village) Chris and Robbie
Guru and I stayed at the Top Tourist CV park in Ballarat last February. It is in within walking distance of Soverign Hill.
Has all the appropriate amenities, owners and staff very approachable and efficient.
Five minute drive into town.
From memory think it was $25 per night. They have drive through sites as well. Not an overly large park but quite comfortable.

We stayed here earlier this year, great spot; Smythesdale Gardens,19K's south west from Ballarat off the Glenelg Highway. Turn onto Gardens rd for about 200m driveway on left. S37. 38370, E143.41170. $5pppn, power available, toilets and hot and cold showers. Plenty of level shady spots. Ring Dennis on 0418 503938 and he will come and collect money and open showers. Free electric bbq, picnic tables, good spot. Be aware that if power needed you will need to park close to the bbq area as the power points are next to the bbq.
top tourist for us as well when we were there, a good little walk over the little bridge following the creek to sovereign hill and the museum on the right and a great little pizza joint on the way back just on the corner
