North NSW bushfires

Hi Everybody

We are heading North along the NSW coast starting next weekend, and had planned to stay at Minnie Waters while we checked out Grafton's Jacaranda Festival. But the Coastal National Park where Minnie Waters is located has had bushfires burning over the past few days. Have been listening to the news on TV and radio, but no details.

Poor buggers, feel sorry for them having to fight fires so early in the season. Our problem of deciding whether to camp there or elsewhere isnt serious by comparison.

Is anyone in that area who could give us some more information?

Thanks

The bushfires around Rockhampton have caused a lot of grief for the locals. There are about 18 fires burning in Qld south of Gladstone, mostly deliberately lit.
Now that makes me really cranky! Damn Jiffy Firelighters at 60KPH.
Mongrels put so many people and so much property at risk. They should be charged with murder, or at the very least, attempted murder.
