G'day all. The Advance van has gone to new owners and I now own a Jayco Freedom model 52.59-5 dom 5/04 pop top. Nice clean looking van and I think it will better suit our needs.I bought the van from the local Jayco agent in Darwin. The unit came without any of the owners hand books or any info on the van.The local agent was unable to help with obtaining this info. I tried contacting Jayco on their web site but have had no response. What ever I have tried I cant seem to activate the 12 volt system and am unsure about the 3 way fridge. Does anyone know how to get this info from Jayco or has anyone got this info they are willing to send me (photocopies will do)? I am willing to pay costs if that helps.Anything on this van will help. We will be starting our lap in May of next year and both are looking forward to it. Hope we will meet many of you on the road. It will be the longest trip we will have done. Cheers Jack and Cherie and our dogs Boris and Lady.

Pauline and I recently purchased a 2002 Jayco Freedom 17ft pop top. Took me several days to work out the wiring. Ours has the battery and fuses under the lounge seat. We have a switch near the fuses panel that lights up in the on position when the 240 volt is attached. I believe this is charging the battery. We have another toggle switch next to that one that activates the twelve volt system. Trial and error is the only way to find out what is what. The toggle switch must be on for the fridge to work as well. Found this out when we arrived in Mackay after driving from Coolum and the fridge was starting to defrost.
We have a DVD which came with our Destiny that you are more than welcome to have. If you send me a Personal Message with your name & address I will send it to you.
Thank you all for the helpful advice.Still cant make everything work so will keep trying. Mike and Liz. Thank you for your generous offer and will take you up on it but I don't know how to send a pm. Advice on this will help. Dave (you Guru) I need help with electrical problems NOT erection problems but thanks for the offer any how. Cheers Jack and Family.

Is the deep cycle battery new, or was it in the van when you bought it? It may be flat, and after standing for a while may not take a charge. All the best.

We have a 2001 jayco freedom pop top it has Centurion 12 volt system ,we have run it with out a Battery at all since we bought the van ,the two battery wires are taped up so as not to short out. 12 volt should work ok without battery while on mains power. We run fridge mainly on AC (mains) switch under seat behind Centurion unit. Also Centurion front cover will clip forward and down to reveal Fan and Spade fuses I think. Toggle switch beside unit turns mains power to unit on and off. We have Manual somewhere if you give me your email I will try to send some pictures our email is mikeandcushla@gmail.com
