I think he's a very wise, informed and courageous polly. Good for him!
It takes a lot of guts to investigate and publicise what those self-serving scientologists are up to.
They suck people in when they're weak and vulnerable. If they have money they're in. If not, they get kicked out. They use people.
It's not a religion. Never was. It's a big business under the guise of religion, so they can be tax exempt. It's always been a crock. A very cruel crock.
It's about time Interpol had a good look at the organisation around the world.
Nick has my respect. Good for him. I hope he's safe now. The heads of the Scientology organisation can be ruthless.

Now Now Guys.............!! How can you all be so sceptical and doubting???

The full bench of the High Court Of Australia declared that it was a bona-fide religion and that is good enough for me !!! We all know what honourable people these high court judges are.


The fact that this " religion" was started by a science fiction writer and their bible is a product of his work should not make any difference.

The fact that as L Ron Hubbard is now deceased,the church was looking at trying to get Tom Cruise's son to be groomed up to take over the leadership of the church, should not make any difference

The fact that the more money you have,the higher you can go in the church should not make any difference.

The fact that if your family is not involved but you are....you are to cease any contact with them should not make any differnce.

The fact that they prey on the weak and vulnerable should not make any difference.

I am just amazed at some of the people who believe in it. I honestly thought they were more intelligent than that. Any-one who starts reading "DIANETICS", will soon realise what a manipulative organisation it is. But then maybe they didn't read the book, and just believed what they were told.
Too many people like that unfortunately. Personally, I like to try and check things out for myself.

You sure picked an interesting topic to introduce yourself to the Nomad's forum.

I think those people we believe to be intelligent haven't quite got it right. These con artists know how to pat an ego, while they take the wallet out of the back pocket.
Those down and out are so insecure that the good stuff these crooks say they can do to help just sucks them in.
The weak and vulnerable lean on anyone who offers a strong arm. If they have nothing to offer this mob, they get the boot. If they give time and service to keep the con going they can stay to repay the good deeds of the scientologists.
The rich and famous love having their egos rubbed, and so you have yourself a very clever team of con artists.
They must have a great team of psychologists and mind benders to make sure they get the right targets for their cause.
Now it that's religion, I'm disillusioned once more in my life.
I still like the philosophy I learned and lived by all my life. Love thy neighbour until they no longer deserve my love. Then I can ignore, but never hate.

No doubt Nick wants to know the answer....
All of these fringe secretive "cults" like to recruit from the unfortunate, from the less educated, from the easily manipulated members of society. It's a bit like a pyramad selling scheme where those at the top reap the rewards from the "recruits" at the bottom.
The Scientoligists had the right of reply and their defence was to call all their detractors liars. The Police have a job ahead of them I suspect.

As I have said, Bob.........this is not discussing religion because this can't be one. They don't even pray to anyone. My next door neighbour and his "charming wife" are scientologists. He has spent a fortune flying to the States and Sydney to do these different courses. He doesn't like talking to me much about it because I give him heaps. The "Charmer" (wife that is) runs their "church" in the city. She hates me LOL. I bet when the big spaceship comes to end the world she will have us destroyed by some interstellar nuke missile.

They are too bloody close for comfort. I hope it isn't contagious.
