Hi I came across this great little community event last year put on by local volunteers in a farming community called Avon roughly 1 hour north of Adelaide 10/15 minutes south east of Port Wakefield SA. They are putting it on again and my family feel it worth a small detour if your passing through that area. These are the details

The ladies there also make a great cup of tea and if they have a trading table this year the traditional country treats are a must. Plenty of parking / room to move. if you want more direction happy to help.
happy travelling letter4mc - Mel I have tried to attach a photo i took last year
You succeeded in the photo attachement Mel. Welcome to Nomads. Poor Avon, the little town everyone forgot when they shifted the highway. I even know where it is. I went to barding school with a girl from that district. I may even be in SA by then, visiting my family for the silly season. Thanks for the notice on this site. There are quite a few "locals" who may come and support the event. It looks like it would be a beauty. I love the way these little villages survive and celebrate with fetes, festivals and markets. Any music? Good luck with the event and I hope some local Nomads will be able to support it. Have a great Christmas. Cheers

Boarding school hey? From what we hear of the adventures of boarding school girls, St Trinians!!! Were you "bard" from the local hostelries, milkbars etc or were you good girls?

Is that where you learned to write such great poetry ?
Heck no! That's where I learned to hate poetry, well studying it and being tested on it anyway. I never thought I'd write poetry ever, but one day I had the urge, and I've never looked back. I still prefer writing anecdotes and stories, but every now and then a little poem just pops out.

Hi Hope you can make it / drop by. Not sure about the music probably not. probably just back ground music. have attached a link to a map which might help people find it.
I love those little town that are hidden away had their infrustracture taken away yet they still struggle by and do some great stuff without sponorship, funding or support.
