Whose books would appeal to all in here as she as in the following description, like those in here on the road. Her name is Sue henry and the 4 book series is called "Maxie and Stretch series" Also a good site to look up authors is http://www.fantasticfiction.co.uk/
"From an author whose "twists and turns keep you turning the pages" (Denver Post) comes a brand-new mystery series starring Maxie McNabb-an independent retiree whose adventures across the country in her motor home are destined for murderous roadblocks.
At 63, Maxie is cruising down the Alaska Highway in her brand-new Winnebago. She's always been a gypsy at heart-and with her mini-dachshund at her side, and the open road ahead, she's never been happier. But before her exploration of the Lower Forty-eight gets underway, Maxie needs to figure out who burglarized her friend's Colorado home-and why. But the closer Maxie gets to solving the puzzle, the more it becomes chillingly clear that her friend's life isn't the only one on the line...
About the Author: Sue Henry's first Jessie Arnold mystery, Murder on the Iditarod Trail, won both the Anthony and Macavity Awards for Best First Novel. Since then, the critically acclaimed series has extended to ten books. The Serpents Trail is the first in a new spinoff series starring retiree and avid RVer Maxie McNabb. Henry is a former college administrator who has lived in Alaska for 30 years.
If anyone wants any ebooks (and I have 1000's) including Sue Henry's, I can put them on cd's and post to those who want them.
For anyone that isn't aware of it, when you post a link (or put one in a pm), click your mouse cursor behind the links last letter/symbol (in this case the /) and move the space bar one space, the link will then light up and people will be able to open it. Only the author of the post or pm can do it to the link they have posted, in the one here I have copied and pasted the link to my post, then did the steps I just mentioned, and now it can be opened. You can also do the same to your own post if you go back and edit the post as described above.
Edit: Just found with a link I posted on another thread that I still had to go back and edit the post, then carried out the steps above, so sounds like you need to go back and edit to make the link active. I think Rolly had another method, but I can't recall what that was.

A few caravan parks have a "book exchange" in the laundry. I found a book by Di Morrisey, liked it so much I actually paid for another and am enjoying that too. She writes what you might call "chick-lit" but her novels are set in various places of Australia, and cover some of the local history. Interesting if thats your kind of fiction.
Have read ALL the Di Morrissey books Rosie, can't wait for the next one

Finished "the Silent Country" already Ma? Just received my copy 4 Christmas, saving it up for a nice little trip down to the coast.... sitting on the edge of the beach under a banksia tree at Tathra reading is my idea of heaven... Ahhh, the Serenity! (Got "the Castle" for Christmas too)
I told a porky Rosie, I haven't read the Silent Country yet.....but will obtain a copy at the first available opportunity.
Reading is so good, especially if you are going through a rough patch. It's like you can just "loose" yourself in a good story and forget your problems for a while. Very theraputic.

Anyone who wants a good laugh, there is an excellent series by Janet Evanovich - "The Stephanie Plum series" there are about 20 novels in the series, every page is a chuckle about a female bounty hunter

Any really Xina, I collect any genre. I have about 40 full cd's of ebooks. I have a library at my fingertips, and will probably never read them all in this lifetime.

Probably a silly question, but have you read XAVIER HERBERT, ION IDRIESS, BILL HARNEY, DOUGLAS LOCKWOOD, GLENVILLE PIKE, or HECTOR HOLTHOUSE ?
If you like, I can organise a list of Titles and Authors for you. Others, besides the above-mentioned. Cheers, xina.
Think I'd be better in paper form. Takes me a while to get through a book. Rather be doing some netsurfing alot of the time. But might get back to you.
Yeah thanks xina, Herbert's Poor fellow Mt Country I bought when it first came out, I only wish I kept it. Anyway free Australiana ebooks can be downloaded at http://gutenberg.net.au/ which might interest you, there are a lot of books on there on authors who have died before 1955, have a squiz. The others I haven't read but vcan probably find out on the internet after some digging around, which I like doing anyway. Anything can be found if you stick to it and have patience.
Another great author Kathy Reichs, her character is Temperence Brennan a forensic anthropoligist, this is the series of books that the TV show Bones is based on.
Bloody good read

The reason I go for ebooks as you can carry hundreds on a pda, which I have about 6 of at the moment and can carry almost all of them on either memory stick or just on cds, If I carried them as paper version I would need a trailer. I went over seas in 2002 and carried a few books with me so I could read when ever had bad weather and could not do anything else and also to read on the plane. Also on pda's you can have games and applications, a good pda is a Palm TungstenE and can be had on eBay pretty easy, as that is where I got my other 5 pda's (mainly for spares) as the Franklin eBookman is not made anymore.
