No Siree. As I have mentioned before,I am an Aussie by choice and proud to be one.My flag is one with a union jack in one corner and a heap of stars spread around the rest of it.I guess when I try to think of a name for the Aussie flag it is just that "Aussie Flag".Cheers.Ibbo.

At least if you say 'AUSSIE FLAG' Ibbo people know what you mean straight away.

When we set up camp, no matter where it is, even in someone's backyard, the first thing that goes up, after pulling the awning out, is our Aussie Flag and it's the last thing to be taken down.

We have one on the front of our house, two on the front verandah, two on the car windows, a sticker of one on the back of the car.

Like you said before Ibbo.......AUSSIE, AUSSIE, AUSSIE......OI, OI, OI.

Proud to be one.

It doesn't matter whether we celebrate Aussie Day with a lamb chop or a Chinese Yum Cha. In our multicultural nation they are both equally, but neither uniquely, Australian.

What is really alarming is the number of Australians who cannot correctly answer what event in history we are celebrating, according to surveys carried out.

(and I'm being Sirius)

Someone gave me a freshly frozen big snapper. The problem now for me is how does a solo eat something like that? I intend to cook it on the Webber, eat as much of it as i can, fridge the rest for the a few more days meals. Now would be a good time to speak up if you have a recipe!
Been a lucky week for me, at work a total stranger gave me his old compound bow so i will spend some time shooting target faces and getting to know and learning about its funny ways,  down at the club of course.

Worse still, wrapping themselves in the flag and publicly disgracing themselves.

Agree with both of you.  Also "aussies"? not even knowing what it's all about and being able to take RDO's or whatever and having a long weekend.  That's not what it's all about.

HISTORY

Australia Day, 26 January, is the anniversary of the arrival of the First Fleet of 11 convict ships from Great Britain, and the raising of the Union Jack at Sydney Cove by its commander Captain Arthur Phillip, in 1788.

On Australia Day we come together as a nation to celebrate what's great about Australia and being Australian. It's the day to reflect on what we have achieved and what we can be proud of in our great nation. It's the day for us to re-commit to making Australia an even better place for the future.

Everyone Enjoy, but Help someone disadvantaged if you can.

About 10 years ago I was visiting Bath, UK and was having a little refreshment in a pub (as one does) and talking to an off duty taxi driver. He directed me to a modest terrace house where (by then) Admiral Arthur Phillip retired. There was a small plaque on the house identifying it as such. Bath is a beautiful town and well worth a visit by anyone going to UK
