Hi cg no paticular reason looked nice starting off from brisbane seemed like a good distance to travell in one day done byron and surrounds want somewhere quite and where to after that who knows we have no plans will be travelling full time with our 14 yr old little dog samantha cheers any advice appreciated
Hi Rogngab.Check out the c/ps up that way for dog friendly places a lot are not as they border on National Parks or the local councils are full of Greenies etc. Also if you are using Caravan parks Australia wide double check the 'phone numbers supplied are correct. For instance the number given for the Mooloolaba Caravan park is incorrect and causes a poor chap at nambour a bit of strife.Happy and safe travels to you both and "Sam".Cheers.Ibbo.
Hi Rogangab, I am not sure about dog friendly parks in Yamba but there is certainly one at Iluka as we stayed there last week. It was called the Anchorage Holiday Park, as was owner run with good facilities and on the river if you like fishing, just beware of the mossies at dusk. Another very good dog friendly park we found wa just a bit farther on ay Arrawara called the Lorikeet. A five minute walk o the beach and the best facilities around. Hope this helps Keith
I have been living in Yamba for 5 years. This is the first time that we have had such a big splash in the papers because of a riot that started at a party in the industrial area.
I left Yamba before I found out what was the underlying cause. I suspect it was either drink or drugs or both. It was pretty bad. . . .for Yamba.
Yamba is mostly holiday makers or retirees. It is a place where I never use the car alarm, I leave the house on the screen security door when I go shopping. Sure it is locked, but hey, any child can pick those locks.
It is a very laid back life and that kind of ugly event rarely happens, in fact that was the first of its kind.
Some very good caravan parks there, although I doubt that they are cheap. The beaches are just fantastic and so is the fishing they tell me.
