Woohoo! Sounds like a great trip to me.
Yes, if you can't get the right travel mate it can be a memorable experience for all the wrong reasons, leaving unpleasant memories of something which should be a trip of a lifetime or the realisation of a dream, like me.
I'm never alone in Rosy. I have Tom and the UHF to keep me company with my fave music in the background. I'm not always in radio range - as in wireless - news and music.
I have to admit it would be better with the right travel mate, but .............
Safe and happy travels, and line up those lace nickers.

I have tried it on my own and I do enjoy it. I'm not after romance, if romance happens it happens SB's anyway. If two women travel together the chins start wagging the instant you stop, why is it that two women are assumed to be in some sort of relationship and two blokes can just be seen as mates?
I'd just like a male to travel with for the company, the difference of opinion, and the help.

The same applies with two blokes travelling together, more so than females I think, that has been my experience when travelling solo.  See if you can get someone (male or female) to do a tag along with you and see how you get on, it you don't then it is easy to part company and go your separate ways with your own vehicles......I have been caught once with the wrong travel companion I thought was going to be ok and would never do it again.  Even the best of friends in normal society can find it tough living in close proximity etc.

In regards to either sexes, there are a lot of nut cases out there who may join you on a whim and then you could get stuck with them.....

Yeah, I dumped one of those off at Dingo Beach, but they weren't biting that day.
He did everything nice and right until he got his butt into my passenger seat.
I didn't notice him bumping his head as he climbed aboard Rosy, but he must have. The change in personality was so sudden I didn't see it coming.
There's a really good reason why that bloke was single.

Hi, I would be very interested to hear from you about your future plans. I want to do some travelling but am not sure what the best way would be. Can we get in touch on phone or email? I am a happy healthy non-smoking male and live on the Sth Coast of NSW. Was thinking of travelling around in my car or suitable vehicle, but would prefer to have company.

Before I started on this trip I thought I would love to have company, but four weeks into it and I am as happy as the proverbial larry.

How else could I have changed my plans at a moment's notice?  How else could I have gotten away with washing just one plate, one glass, one bowl. . . .

How else could I just open the fridge and prepare "dinner" in ten minutes flat?

Hey, company is good, but freedom is soooo sweeeeet!!

Hi Happy Wanderer,

As far as I know that is the same size as mine [Toyota HiAce, LWB] except it has a child's bed on top, which is handy if you have a child, but they tell me it costs more fuel with the added resistance in the raised top.

Thats interesting Beams. My son said the same thing but more about the wind resistance to being a problem with my driving rather than using more petrol.
He wants me to get one like yours with the poptop, has yours got the poptop.
I was only thinking of the hi-top for standing up rather than being bent over all the time.

You bet.  Couldn't walk around stooped.  What's more, I find that once the pop-top is up and the windows zipped open, there is such a beautiful breeze, that I have not used the air conditioner.  PM me if you need any details,to avoid boring others with mundane trivialities

Have to agree with you re. the breeze and fuel consumption Beams.  If I'm only over-nighting somewhere, I don't bother to put the top up.  Only if staying for any length of time.
Got plenty of Storage now, with Drawers from The Warehouse [Crazy Clarks' have them too.].
You can get an idea of the difference the Hi-top makes.  Mine is on the left, [Centre of Top Pic.]  and Solomons' on the right.

I wouldn't bother to put up the top if I did not have my Popper-topper which makes it so much easier. In fact I don't think I could do it if I had to do all the lifting.

You seem to be very well equipped there, enough storage for long time travelling. I have not gone that far yet. My longest trip was 4 weeks on the road.

What do you use for a Popper-topper Beams ?  I know some people use a 12V Car Jack, but I haven't heard of another popper-upper.
I've only been away for a week at a time so far, but I'm just about all organised now, for longer trips.
