Im sure i will need some advice along the way,as i have never done this before.
I would love some advise or even tag along someone that needs company, that can show me the ropes.
Im not all that confident.

Welcome Steve. You'll get a lot of help here. Just start asking anything you want to know.

Cheers,

Sheba.

Hi Chris.
thank you for the warm welcome.

I do not know what type of rig im going to get yet,but must have shower and toilet, and needs to be cheap.
I have done no travelling of this kind,im just going to head any direction .
I really do not have much choice but to get on the road and see what life has to offer from now on.
Im thinking on the line of a coaster as a rig not sure.

Wow Steve you do really want to take the bull by the horns.
Do you have towing experience?
How portable do you want to be if the rig is "home"?
I live and travel in a 20ft aluminium box with staples, tugged by a Landcruiser.
This gives me the freedom to park up and yet stay mobile with the cruiser.
If you do it in a bus or Coaster you'll need a pushy on the back or a car on A frame or trailer.
This set up will cost you 3 lots of registration, the trailer being the cheapest.
It will cost you 2 lots of fuel, 3 sets of tyres at some time or other.
Caravans only have a trailer or similar registration fee.
Will you be working? Then portable you will need to be.
It's always you choice, I've just thrown in a couple of hurdles for you to jump.
It's a good life, unless you're parked up in Cairns where it's been raining for most of the week, and not giving anything an chance to dry out.
The van has some damp spots on the inside despite my squirting a tube of Sikaflex around all windows, doors and joins. Everything is black or green with mould with the accompanying musty smell through absolutely everything.
Ah, it is really a good life.

They're NOT my favourite thing either.
I've been right around this box with sikaflex and still the rain finds its way in.
And now the mould is setting in to the damp spots inside.
That's van life.

Hi and welcome Steve!!
I know how you feel, I did the same thing 12 mths ago! I just got a little winnebago freeway, drives like a car, and starting heading where the road took me! It has a toilet/shower, and all I need to camp independantly, yet small enough to park in carparks. It's 18ft. I am still happy with it after 12mths and it was still the best for me with the budget I had. I don't regret my purchase at all.
I'm more than happy to tag along if you happen to be heading in the same direction at some stage.
Keep in touch,
Cheers,
Dianne
