ROPER RIVER;

Hi guys & gals,just droped in to see whats been going on as it has been a little while since last visit, & no we havent become croc bait,lol.
The fishing has been quite since our first outing & the tides are at wrong time of the day for the last week, coming better now just hope the rain stays away.
Had a storm couple of days back, blew down the screen room & wet every thing inside [bugger]so had to dry it all the next day.
To add insult to injury I got a dose of gout in my ankle which laid me up for a few days, just starting to come good again.
The temperture has droped a little & nights are more comfortable now,but still hot in general.
We hope to be back on the water tomorrow if this weather holds off , we have one day on & one off for a rest as we all travell long distance to fish,min of 90klround trip &up to200kl for the bigger boats.
The early morning trips down river are nice when all is calm, but the return trip in the avo is very rough with big swells & chopsmaking it a very rough trip, even the 5/7 mtr boats with 150hp get a pounding.
TONYD, jealousy wont get you any where so you will just have to do it for your self,its not all strawberrys & cream/ barra & chips , there,s a lot of hard work as well.
SIGNWILSON,mate dont know who your brother & his son may be but there is plenty of fisheries & police droping in here & checking the catches .lol.

Till we drop in again , take care & catch you soon.
Cheers.

Hope you keep you're powder dry as I hear there's a cyclone in you're area, you might get more practice at drying your gear out. Hope the barra play their part for you! How big is your tinnie as 90km. is a big trip in a roof topper witha bit of breeze. We travelled from King Ash to the mouth at Booroloola and that's about as far as I'd like, can't trust the wind

Gary , we have a 399 stacer , the 90k takes 3hrs return. Another spot we go to is 68kls & 4hr return. Big days , Rained on us down the river yesterday, none at camp, cloudy today & watching the weather, it has cooled off alot but still warm enough.
