The "Leader of the Opposition" and myself were heading towards Roma on Good Friday when a Nissan 360Z screamed past us at a great rate of knots. About 10 K's down the road we passed the same Nissan, the driver was having a "chat" with the Highway Patrol. A few minutes later the same Nissan screamed past us again and then just a little further down the road we passed them again - they were stopped again - chatting with another police officer. Given the extra demerit points and fines that apply during holiday periods I'm guessing that there was no more driving of that Nissan on Good Friday. Quite often when some idiot speeds past me, I think to myself "wouldn't it be funny if a police car was just around the corner" and there we were - my prayers had been answered. Some people just never learn.

I have often thought the same and only once have my thoughts come to fruition.
I was traveling just below the speed limit with a vehicle about 100 mts behing when on a blind corner another vehicle overtook both of us and I estimated his speed to be at least 40kph over the limit.
You can imagine my face when the vehicle behind lit up behind grill lights and went roaring past with siren screaming and portable flashing light on roof.
I soon passed both vehicles parked on side of the road Chatting.

This reminds me of the great debate - to flash or not to flash
Those that choose to flash oncoming traffic when they past a road side radar, are not looking at the bigger picture in my mind.
If a person chooses to speed it is up to them and not up to me to warn them that a traffic cop is about to "have" them. Let them learn that the time difference in getting to their destination is minimal and the risk to others is great.
Also I had an instance where I was robbed and a 'flash for cash' was up the road. Had the motorist not warn the robbers, I may have got my money back. Not a biggy for me at the time, just a drive off with fuel, but it did consolidate that those that speed may be doing it for an illegal reason.
Think about it the next time you feel the need to flash.
try entering a roundabout and some idiot in front of you misses his turnoff on the roundabout so then decides to reverse back round fortunately for me the other lane on the roundabout was clear so I could dodge into that and get out of his way oh boy how I wish the police had been there then Helena.
Oh my God Helena, are you serious? Yes, I've seen too many silly things to even start listing them here. I used to flash oncoming traffic to warn of radars etc, but I don't want to get caught. Apparently there's a fine for it if you get caught flashing, with you pants on. So no more flashing for me. If they're doing the crime, they can do the time. Getting some of the morons off the road is the best thing that can happen.

Please excuse my ignorance but what is a "Flash for Cash" and how were you robbed.
