Been thinking about buying a second hand Van.......a Avan Rhys 2004.with single beds...its 17ft 6" x 7ft 6"..I have to go single beds as I'm 6'5" tall...and with extentions double beds are only 6ft 2" long....
Anyone got one or can give me some info about them..would be appreciated
Hi, We have an A`Van sportsliner bought it 18 months ago it was new we have enjoyed the trips that we have done in it so easy to put up and take down more room in it than appears from the outside, can`t tell you anything about the model you are looking for though good luck with it. Helena.
Good luck with it SD, they look great. Friends of ours have the cute little triangle model, don't know what they are called, maybe same as yours Helena? and they swear by theirs and have had it for years.
We started in a tent then bought the Jayco Hawke and this year will be its last ride. I would like a Windsor Rapid pop top. The bed ends still push out leaving the inside floor space like the Hawke. Haven't done all my research on them yet. The Other Half wants the deck the back of the ute out and go back to a tent.

HI Firefly, Sounds very much like ours we love it so comfortable we were away four months in it last year hoping to be away 5 months this year. Helena.
We have a 2005 Rhys. The beds are very long. Can't tell you exactly at this stage cause I'm too cumfy in my chair. I am only 5'3" but I keep 2 soft bags with clothes in at the top of the bed and I still don't reach the bottom.
We love ours and are very comfortable. We added air conditioning, an oven and a small electric hot water service to ours.
Let us know if you want any more info.
p.s Just looked at the photos. Ours is just like this (different colors) Most people are amazed at how much cupboard space we have. We have travelled for 4 months, 5 months and 6 weeks all around Australia. We have had our springs raised above the axle because we were bottoming out alot. I recall reading somewhere that alot of people with the A'van pop-tops have this done. Otherwise we have only had to replace one shock absorber and tyres.

Robin & Ted Was interested in your reply as we were thinking about getting bigger tyres on our Spotsliner for the same reason it bottoms out wondering if the springs would be a cheaper option than buying three new tyres. Helena.
Hey Ted....how do you get over having such a low door step.....I've heard they are a pain getting over speed humps.......also raising the height....what then happens to the annex height....???...this one has a full annex
We have never had any trouble with the step. Once we raised the van, the annex still fitted fine. We did have to sew an extra piece on to the bottom of the skirt.
Thanks........at 960kg its lite enough.....best part it has a 6ft 6" long bed on one side... I striped the gear out of the campertrailer yesterday.....ready for sale..I forgot how much gear the camper carried....now I need somewhere to store it all.......LOL...11 weeks they say to build....
A 6ft 6" long bed on one side, now that is what a bed should be, not like these damned little things in most vans where one needs to sleep with their knees around their neck.

Happy travelling in your new van. I've been quite happy with my little Goldstream (2002 Goldcrown) that I've had for 2 years now. Had two trips to Cairns (from Newcastle), one to western Victoria , one to Gladstone Qld and a couple of shorter trips.
Thanks Jim A family member owns a 2007 Goldstream crown fully off-road version with Pajero rims.....they currently staying at Jupiter Creek near Kununurra..(I think its spelt that way) the eastern edge of the Kimberley....Northern WA
Well the Goldstream arrived in SA last week...a month ahead of plans.....its been serviced and registered....and I pick it up on thursday afternoon.......they do a 2 hour chat and show on it and set it up/connect up to Pajero....then go for a run and set the electric brakes..better be good at $800 delivery fee.
I have already got 2 short trips organised for a shake down.
