I unofficially retired at the close of the Brisbane Caravan Show at 4pm last Tuesday, but officially step down as CEO on the 28th of this month. Then it's a wait for the bank statements to arrive so I can close the books for the year and hand them over to the accountant. Michael Guthrie and his wife Jennifer will take the Helm from Jane and I and the office will move from the Mornington Peninsula to Albury (Just about completed the move) I'll still be a Director, but in an unpaid position as consultant to the management and member parks. I'm reasonably sure they'll call me to man the stand at a few shows from time to time. My main job in retirement will be to visit member parks to assist them with possible improvements to standards and facilities and to assess new applicant parks or others identified by the new management team that are interested in becoming members. God knows how we ever found the time to run the office, go to shows and get out and about. I reckon the new retirement job will run us ragged in a nice sort of way. Visiting parks and doing a few bush camps here and there with a little fire going and a few bottles of red. After all that hard work we maybe looking for a job so we can have a rest. LOL. And yep! I'll have a laptop with wireless broadband so I can still keep in touch and keep a few of you honest, or partly so. Cheers, ozjohn & ozjane.
