We went on the Adelaide River Wildlife, leisure & Fishing One Day Tour yesterday.
$140 for a full day. Pick up and drop off. Everything supplied including fishing gear. Home made cake for morning tea. Great BBQ lunch with plenty of salad.
Harry, the tour operator has been doing this for 30 years and what he doesn't know about the Adelaide River and it's inhabitants isn't worth knowing anyway.
AND Crocodiles.........you have never seen so many in the wild in all your life (except at the crocodile farms).
We figured it was excellent value for money when compared with other tours and have no hesitation in recommending them.
If you are in Darwin and want to go on this tour you can ring Harry direct on 0427055470.
No fish on the cruise JR unfortunately. Too many lines in the water at one time me thinks and when you have one member of the cruise who 'KNEW EVERYTHING" there was to know about fishing and couldn't keep his mouth shut if his life depended on it........then how in the heck could you catch any fish anyway...... notwithstanding, it was an excellent day.
it could have been worse Elaine, you could have been on a 3 week bus tour and had HWKE (he who knows everything) as part of your group.... why we grey-nomad instead of doing bus tours!
Reminds of a time about 30 odd years I was on a charter boat and one of the participants was a bit of twit who'd never caught a fish before and he landed one that was not very big but a keeper anyway and got excited. He asked the deckie how do you cook it...."do you cook it whole?" I turned around to him and said "No you cut it hole out when cleaning it"...I think he's still trying to work it out.
