I am deputy Captain of our local Fire Brigade . I want to stay home on wet , cold nights , with my family . Please Travel safely . Zoomtop

Great advice. I won't be getting you out of bed on a cold rainy night. I know the dangers only too well and don't like to drive in the rain if I can help it.
I was a passenger in a vehicle travelling too fast in the wet (too fast period) and was lucky that even though we hydroplaned and did a 380 degree spin at 120 klms per hour on the highway, we hit nothing and escaped with just bruising to my ex's ego.
If it's at all possible we try to stay off the roads in the wet when we are towing our "Freda". Likewise always try and be camped up by 4pm and not drive in the dark.
