Just now we are in Rubyvale, Central Qld - in the tropics one km above the Tropic of Capricorn. Daily temperatures are from about 5 deg C to 20 deg C. The village of Sapphire, 3km south and below the Tropic of Capricorn is just as warm (or cool) - strange.

I'm getting on the road this Saturday to head north to warmer climes, first stop Inverell for a couple of days (brrrrrrrr!), at least I won't be camping in Inverell, staying at a mate's place. After that then on to Gladstone, overnighting at "Possum Park" (20k north of Miles)
Jim
PS: you'd think it would get much warmer once you climbed up over that big dotted line on the map, maybe you went through one of the gaps in that line instead???
