Hi guys just thought if any of you guys have like us been to the big 4 park at rollingstone, some people say that younger people can't run a caravan park but these young couple (sorry forgot there names) are so freindly and run a great park. yes i know its a big4 but there is no playground for kids, the pool is fantastic there is only 3 cabins its totally for caravans the toilets and showers are so clean we would not hesitate in recomending this park to anyone that is on the way north queensland
It's nice to hear that they treat the visitors better than the locals, have never heard a good word about that place since it opened, I lived in Townsville for nearly 20 years and knew of a few people that had been there and swore they wouldnt go back.
The other park up there on the highway think its called Bluewater caravan park is also a no go zone, they are always bitchin about the free stayers at the councils Blue Water reserve just up the road on the left, these guys have been known to go up and cause problems and try to drive the people out just to get them to go to their park.
The lengths people will go to never ceases to amaze me.

glad to see young people are having a go.... wish them all the best... if they can provide a good service with a friendly attitude they will do well.... certainly better than some of the old grumps we have came across in our travels....

If there is such a thing as a tourist season.... why cant we shoot them?
Stayed there last year and again a few weeks back. Can endorse the favourable comments above. The sites are quite spacious and en-suites are available, some sites however are a bit distant from the amenities.
HI all yes we are staying at this park at present and it is beautiful. Had planned on staying in one of the free camps down the road as we are travelling through to Cairns to see our children, but the camp was so full by lunch time we kept going to this one and very pleased we did. Absolutely beautiful outlook, amenities are very high standard and great walks, owners very friendly. Free camps on HIGHWAYS OR MAIN ROADS should be limited to overnighters only. Some people in there are long stayers with clothes lines stretched over bigger area than necessary so other people cannot fit in. We stay in both free camps and caravan parks and both have good and bad points. People that leave toilet paper on the ground and in bushes in free camps/rest areas are disgusting. Digging a hole to bury your crap is not difficult!! JB
The free campo you speak of wouldnt be on the banks of a river on the left (heading Nth) would it, what a shame, this place used to be used by the CMCA yearly for a show n tell, also it was a very handy free stop.
It is great to hear the good reports about Rolloingstone, after all the bad press it got in Townsville, you really have got to wonder if the bad reports were from certain other operators in the area who were losing out.
Gooto hear so much good news.
