Hi folks, this is serious. I'm currently in Darwin, and have been shocked by the road toll in the NT.Every day there seems to be another fatality or serious injury on the road, far exceeding the toll for the same time last year. Why?Is it the long straight distances and fatigue,is it the 130kph limit on the open road,is it grog or what.Whatever the reason, please be alert (and we all know the world needs more lerts). Be safe and enjoy your travels David

I have travelled the NT many times , even before the 130kl limit was introduced.I was amazed that no one seemed to be in a hurry to over take &/or speeding, not like on the east coast.

when in Darwin around this time last year i was amazed at how the locals (in the metro area ) insisted on their right of way --- even if a collision was likely.
Don't think the 130 km speed on the Stuart is a problem as it's a marvouls Hwy, probably the best in Ozz.
cheers Coyotte
