There are ex-servicemen and women, reg's, reserves and nasho's, all over this country. Some travelling, and some not.
I've known many, met many on the road, the most recent was a couple from Woodside.
I didn't join the forces or reserves, but I joined emergency services as a radio operator. Country Fire Service, State Emergency Service and Volly Sea Rescue. My small effort to give something back to my community.
We do what we can with what we have.
The War Museum in Canberra brings it all home to everyone who visits, whether they were there or not. The Vietnam exhibit was the most touching and realistic re-creation, which caused me to feel so many emotions.
See you on the road somewhere.
