Celebrating tonight... brought home our new caravan today, so excited!!
Its a Jayco Discovery Outback, ie 15.5 ft pop-top with dirt road options. (not OFF road, but hey! we go on those dirt tracks in National Parks, not the Telegraph track!)
Lotsa things to learn about how to "drive" all its contraptions... think I'll do that tomorrow after the champagne wears off!
Planning a couple of 1 or 2 night trips locally to test it all and make a list of the things we need and dont need to carry. Got a towing course booked with Tow-ed (for my benefit) then off to the North Coast NSW next month.
Well done! Good for you! A couple of trial runs are good ideas to sort out the teething problems and to get used to the bells and whistles. Also put it out in the rain if possible to check for leaks. Failing that use your watering do to squirt it down. Better to find them now than in the middle of no where where you can't get out of the weather to reseal it. Selleys Roof and Gutter is the preferred sealant, although I used Sikaflex Marine and Auto. The local caravan man prefers the Selleys on vans. Good luck and and travel safe.

Hey Gerty, that's great, congratulations, hope you will enjoy your new abode as we enjoy ours - maybe one day we will see you somewhere sometime.
Think we might pip you to the post Dunmowin' - champers will be coming out of the cupboard just before Christmas for us! Then watch out - we will be heading off into the wild blue yonder to see the sights of this great southern land.

What brand of champers! I have three bottles of Pol Roger waiting for Feb 2011. I will put them on ice on 1st Feb.
Congrats Gerty. I am sooooooooooooo envious
Pol Rodger no less!!!
I know the name but not being a Champers drinker have never looked at the price. Goggled it & found some in UK for around 10 pounds/bot. Have to look at Dan Murphy's on my next visit. But it certainly impresses me.
Sounds like a drop that shoud be carefully stored for champange drinkers on a special occasion. Like the arrival of Gretie's new van.
