Just spent the last 3 days travelling on the Eyre Hwy from Ceduna to Kalgoorlie, it is so green and grassy, you can see what a wet winter it has been in southern Australia. We came across west to east in Jan, it was dry and scrubby, totally different now, still scrubby of course but you hardly see any dirt through the ground cover.
Did sometimes think we must be travelling the wrong direction, could have got RSI with waving at all the vans going east!
It's very soggy under foot in FN Qld. Sick of it! Drip and drizzle between heavy showers, with the occasional gusts and squalls. Some travellers I spoke to during the week came across from NT to here and report the country up here is also very green. They also took a flight over Lake Eyre from Maree - a once in a lifetime experience I'd think. I might even do that when I head down the middle in a month or so. That's why this country is never boring. It's always changing kilometre to kilometre. Enjoy it all, however it is at the time. It's always special.
