A reminder as you sit and have your happy hour, keep a look out. Its that time of year again. Just came across the first big black snake for the year heading for our dam. Lucky our dog (yep. a border collie, so many G.N's seem to have them) couldn't be bothered to walk down to the paddock with me. Lost a jack russel last year to a black snake.
Just be aware that they are out and about. Give them their space.

when we lived on our farm many years ago, i was helping my mother clean out the chook shed, there was a brown snake, half in half our underneath the chooks thing where they sat, and she told me to go and get my dad who was in the other shed working. any way i go and what do i do? I go out and lock the door, from the outside!! It was just so normal to do , NO Wonder she wasnt reall happy when I came back!!
Good one Milo. remind me not to invite you up here.
Thanks Vic. Part of life unfortunately. The avatar photo was taken on the Tin Horse Highway, as you probably know coming from W.A. They do look like two of ours.

Yes there are some beaut ones on that Highway John, lots of humour in them too! On one of your posts you were down south and I was thinking about trying to catch up with you (in Perth) however the next post I saw you were back in Richmond! You must have done some low "flying", lol !!
Have you seen the new free/low cost camp at the Richmond Club? I often went to the Richmond Ex-Servicemen's Club years ago, is this the same Club?
Won't go into details, had a couple of ops recently (one to correct the other) and am in recovery mode at home now (that means the missus has to do most of the work, he he!!) but all ok but busting to get away again when I am fit to go.
As Chris and others have said on here, don't leave it too late for your RV travel plans, the sooner the better if circumstances permit (or make it happen) !
Funny story Milo, loved it! I'm always locking the missus outside, I come back inside and forget she is out there and lock the door.......she is not amused!
PS: In my avatar.......no I am not having a pee behind the door, just getting something out of the back, LOL

Way back when i was a wee lad, living on the Merri river out of Warrnambool Vic, my mother, our next door neighbour (500 metres away) and another neighbour about a mile away were all bitten by tiger snakes, over about a three year period. None proved immediately fatal, however talking to my doctor a while ago, he said that the snake bite probably hastened my mother's death. Mum being tough as old boards sat up all night, refusing to go to hospital and refusing to go to sleep probably knowing she would not wake up. She died of a heart attack, some years later.
