I clicked pop-top, the caravan industry refers to mine as a camper trailer but funtionally I think it more resembles a pop top. Mine (Goldstream Goldcrown) does not have the pull-out beds so it has less space inside but is simpler to set up.

I still have my camper trailer (Redback, off-road galvanised box style trailer with fold out tent on top) that I used before buying the Goldstream. It needs a good clean up before putting on the market but would talk an "as is - where is" deal.

I am pretty excited thats for sure, a shower and a loo, it will be heaven.

Couldn't fault our little hawke to be honest, just need something easier as we travel long distances but move on daily.

Whats that Meatloaf song... 'Heavens in the back loo of my caravan'?, much more Australian than 'back seat of my cadilac' don't you think?

We love our 20'6" Compass caravan (and while we never use the shower apart from storage - dirty clothes basket, bucket with cleaning stuff, mop, pegs - the toilet is ESSENTIAL).

5.1% have voted 'none of the above'. How about these 2 folk putting up a post telling us what it is that they do have??

I wonder if the poll has a bit of a problem. It has provision for a mini motorhome and a large motorhome. Do campervans small come under mini motorhomes??

That's how I interpreted it.
My 20ft Roma has shower and toilet because I used to get up 3 times a night. I've never used the shower.
Since surgery last Christmas the toilet gets ignored.
It's a great storage area as mentioned above, and I keep my "wine cabinet" in there.
My esky in which I keep spirits, wine, soft drink safely, but not long.

Pam, we had a campertrailer almost exactly like yours - mirror reverse but same colour. Sold it much reluctantly to start the GN ball rolling.

Van of our choice is a Kedron - will full ensuite. Ready to pick up February 2011. So I voted Caravan.

Interesting: noted that two GNs above 'never' use their on-board shower. Our Southern Cross 5th-wheeler is our permanent home, and we revel in using our own shower when water is available. I guess it's a little more roomy than those in some smaller vans (ours is 25'6", or 7.7 m); is that why?

Dunmowin, a little off topic but how do you like your Kedron and are they heavy? I love the look of them and will check them out when the time comes, but first hand news is the way to go. smile

Several reasons why we don't use the shower in the van:

We only ever stay in caravan parks, and use ensuite sites when available, so there isn't a really pressing reason to use the one in the van.

We keep so much stuff in the shower cubicle that it is too much bother to get it out and put it back again

The twice we did actually use the shower it took so long to get the water out of it and clean it up afterwards it was way more trouble than it was worth. I suspect the plumbing isn't quite right as the water doesn't drain properly.

i too class our little van as a pop top its a jayco owl but i call it a pop top cos the roof pops up or winds up and has one bed pops out the side instead of two ,dunno why they call it a camper trailer i call a camper trailer a tent on wheels .

ive always seen them classed as pop top campers in camper places in port mcquarie nsw
but i guess all different places call them different things.

Our shower is only hooked up to our onboard 2 X 60 ltr water tanks so subsequently the tanks needs to be filled more often which is more of a hassle than direct hose connection methods so when we are at a caravan park myself & especially Hylda can take our time a little bit more in the park amenities, its also nice to have someone else clean up afterwards, sometimes just have to ignore the odd burps, farts & people that seem to be trying to blow their brains out of their noses while in the shower.
