Port Hedland.

Close Cuppa. T'was the shipping control tower at Dampier, now demolished. Your turn. Cheers

It wasn't Dampier, it was at Port Hedland

 That's the place Bill.

There was an old 'bushy' caretaker there when we visited on our way north in 2018. Before following the track from there up to Alice Springs via Santa Teresa we asked him if there were any good camp spots along the way. "Yep" he said, turn left at the third gate & follow the fence line in for a few kms & duck in around the edge of the hills, It'll be out of the wind & there might even be a bit a water there too if you're lucky."  His directions were spot on & it was a great camp spot. We marvelled that he had been able to give such succint & accurate directions for a place which turned out to be a little over 170kms drive! No water though.

This was our camp spot between Old Andado & Alice in the Arakoora Ranges. As fine as they come we reckoned. We slept well, & whilst laying in bed next morning, (tent not deployed on our 'swag on wheels') we looked out and watched a dingo watching us just 5 metres away.

Back to you Bill.

Is it on the Darling Downs? If it is, I'll have to give it some thought.

Thank you Gaylehere.

Gulgong! that brought back some good memories, the town on the one dollar note, bit hard to remember those now.

Who has stopped here for a rest break and the picnic area now has a new toilet block?

A bit of a wild stab here - can't quite pin why - but how about Rolleston, Qld? It sort of looks familiar but different, mind you it is 15 years since I was there.
