I have an Easy Cook turbo and hence have the book. They all work much the same way so book is good for any brand. Easy Cook is more expensive than some others but I bought mine with credit card FF points that were about to expire.
I use the turbo several times most weeks and rarely use the stove oven.
PS: Sheba I can confirm your lemonade scone recipe is a success in the turbo
Thanks Jim. Have you tried Boiled Eggs in the Turbo ?
I've made ordinary Scones, and they cooked beautifully, but very dark. Not burned though.
According to the book, if you cook something on a dark coloured container [ I used the Pizza Tray.] it will turn out darker. Use a light coloured one, and it will be light colour.
We just bought one used it three times and it sits under the back seat we use the slow cooker more and public BBQ but with winter comming we will give it a look again thanks for the tip.
Hi, we've had an Easy Cooker for years & would not use anything else to cook baked dinners in. Pork ( great crackling ) , Lamb, Beef & Chicken all cook great as well as veges.
I bought an el cheapo turbo cooker a couple of years ago and since then I have never turned my home oven on. As well as all the things previously mentioned I find it is great for pastry, spinach and fetta or apple turnovers are a favorite.
As my little rig does not include a hot water system, (note hot water..two words to get past sparklit/activeboard's idiotic censorship software) I recently purchased a "Billy" from Easycook, the turbo oven people (https://www.easycook.com.au/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=3) I used it almost every day on my recent trip to South Aus and like the turbo it's in constant use at home.
I have just ordered the book and can't wait for it to arrive. I bought a turbo oven for the van but want to "test drive" it at home a few times before taking it away and the recipe book sounds like the way to go.
Hello we are new to the site. Just a quick one regarding the scone recepie. How to you get your scones to rise. I have just purchased a Turbo Oven and want to try out scones. My oven did not come with any recepie books. Aldi special for $35.00. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Hope to see you out on the trail. Once agin thanks for any advice.
My turbo oven didn't come with any recipes either so I ordered the book mentioned below by jimricho and Sheba. It seems to be "one size fits all". Guess I'll soon know.
The turbo oven will cook almost anything you would normally cook in an oven or under a griller. You can cook steaks and sausages in the Turbo but they do come up better when cooked on a hot plate or dry pan. I use low fat sausages so normal ones may be ok. For baked spuds, just spray a little olive oil on the spuds and cook on the rack.....yummy!
