Dunno about the pub Jimbo - but i'd let a Collingwood supporter buy me a beer there. Another option is the pub at Marlborough - its a bit further off the highway than the Yaamba one - hence less noise. I think its free too. A mate stayed there about 4 months ago and reccomended it. Apparently you can buy your meal there, eat it in your van and take the plate back. Marlborough is 100 k north of Rockhampton. phone number of the Royal Oak Hotel Yaamba is 07 49343190.

Was there , Marlborough, two days ago and it was pissing down! But the beer was cold and the truckys were camped outside. You usually know how good the food is by the amount of b doubles pulled outside. It rained all night.

The Marlborough camp is off the highway but near the railway so some train noise I'd imagine. Pub charges $5 a night (I think) for campers to use their facilities. There is also a caravan park at Marlborough on the Highway. It's about a kilometre from the village, Caltex roadhouse closeby that's popular with truckies and owned by an ex-truckie. Park is ok, facilities are clean and more than adequate. Sites are drive-throughs. Some highway noise but not too bad.
At Yaamba there's a popular roadside rest area almost next to the Pub, don't know what the camping restrictions are (if any)
Yaamba..40k north of Rocky is right. Have stayed at the free parking near the pub. No restrictions that I know of, just watch for snakes in toilets. Bit noisy, as its right beside the h/way. Much better off in the Marlborough pub park, as the boys said. Cheers Dellie
Yaamba QLD I spelt it wrong alright.......The Fitzroy River is about 1/1/2 Km down that dirt road.......Across from the pub is a general store and Fuel.......When I was there in October 2010 The owners were waiting for signatures from the new owners and I was wondering if it had changed hands.....And we know what that means peoples
Ps I stayed 3 nights and had a great time.....Rode my Electric bike all over the place...Took a couple of stubbies down to the river and seen the sign...Beware of Crocodiles
