Easy Fruit Cake.

Got this from a friend a couple of days ago.  Haven't been game to try it yet.  Sounds too good to be true.

Cheers,
Sheba.

1 Tin Condensed Milk.        1 Pkt. Mixed Fruit, or Fruit Medley, or whatever you prefer.

1 1/2 cups Sr Flour.

Mix all together, and bake at 180 'till cooked.

Wonder how long yours will last.

The tin I have is 395g.  I don't know if there are other sizes.  Some-one will let us know if there are.

The first Fruit Medley [ my preferance,] I'm going to use, is 375g.

Cheers,
Sheba.

No eggs, No butter, No sugar, No mucking around... Sounds like my kind of recipe! Thank you Sheba.
This cake may keep well, but wont last long!

Thanks Sheba,

Wasn't sure whether it was the small can or the large one, that's the large one. Simple recipes are best for my simple brain!

My mum used to make a very similar cake, very nice and not too sweet.

I pk dried fruit put in mixing bowl

cover with either cold tea, apple juice or orange juice...whatever you like... I put in a splash of sherry and leave overnight.

add SR flour to the mix, enough for it to look the right consistency for a cake

Bung it in the oven till cooked.

Very nice.

Hi all, l tried the fruit cake recipe yesterday. Was very hard to mix so l added half a cup of orange juice the result was good. Will make it again but will add a little more liquid just for easier mixing. Ian took some to work to day and said it's very nice...

Tastes even better if you soak the fruit in brandy or rum overnight before making it the next day.

I know a bakeshop that serves this Fruit cake, I don't know if the ingredients are all the same but then I guess this is the time for me to bake. The ingredients are all set with one can of mixed fruit and that's it. This is the perfect menu for Christmas or any Holiday occasions.

I tried it when someone else posted it as a slice - very sweet - a bit chewy but still OK. Adding more liquid may be the solution like clazandaza tried.
