Will have to make a list of all you wonderful people and note where you are. Beth if I remember rightly you are in Logan. I know how to get there. But will meet out on the road somewhere anyway. Looks like i have found the awning I like. My son in law put me onto the Ironman 4x4 site. They have a great awning attached to vehicle along sliding door side with telescopic legs, and can also get a mozzie net which attaches to it. Tried to copy and paste to show you all but won't work.
You can slope the awning at any angle, good for when its raining, and on a mozzie free day you can pack up the mozzie walls and just have the roof. A table and chair, a good book and some cooking going on beside a pretty lake. magic!!!
HW, I suggest you get a small compass so that you can setup camp with the awning under the shade, not like the idiot who put up the one on the Ironman site in full sun.
No Allara that was a 1988 Nissan Urvan and they were unwilling to sell it with a roadworthy. You would have to get your own. After weeks of watching and ringing them I decided against it. This van I have bought from a caryard trading in my old car which suits me the best. It means i have to buy a few things to set up but its a 2007 which is such a new vehicle in comparison to all the old 80s campervans that i could afford.
My worst fear at my age was buying a vehicle that wasn't going to be reliable. This way I am more confident.
Oh yes wombat, all caryard stuff. All above board. Good trade in, full roadworthy and 12 months rego and a good warranty and I even beat them down a few hundred.
Good on ya, I never pay the shelf price, mrs wombat always walks away when I start dealing with a salesman for anything, just recently got another Plasma from Hardly Normal, shelf price $1199 got it for $799 I love a bargain.
Next week I will be going for another eye test, they can never beat the online price but I always go through the salesmans rubbish than I pull out my online price and ask them to match it or better it and they always say thay can't. I love to haggle

I know exacly how you feel. Had the same deliema when I was looking for a tray back. The older stuff was nearly as dear as the new also with a dealer, you have a 'come back' if there are any problems, can't get that with a private sale. I just want to get in the vehicle, turn the key and get going. You can't always find a helpful mechanical person when you need one, except for NRMA. Looking forward to the pics, hope to meet up some time. Allara
