Hi everyone, I have been meaning to post details regarding car fridges and the savings to be found but the old timers memory I seem to suffer has until now prevented it....now, what was I going to say? Ok, I was directed by a friend to Waeco's secondhand shop at Robina Qld ( I live close by fortunately) and after checking their webpage decided to inspect their showroom....wow, what a range of products and substantial savings to be had as well! In our case a Waeco CF-49 lt fridge freezer was $766.00 and $100 extra for insulated cover. It had been used as a show demonstrator and was spotless. During 2 months of continuous use it functioned brilliantly. This same unit sells for $1299.00 plus cover...........downside (if any) is that the warranty for "seconds"is 6months compared to 3years for new fridge. So, for anyone looking for a "new"secondhand fridge then I trust you will find something to suit at www.fridgeshop.com.au/ (or google waeco seconds) Ozi2 PS: I have no affiliation with Waeco.
Hi ozi2 we are Engel people.Years ago we bought one of the yellow models,(it had been recond)it had been battered around a bit but we carted it all over the country for years till we traded it in for a new latest model. We have had the "new" one for 3 years and last week we found it wasn't working on 12 volt! It works fine on 240 though.Everyone tells us the yellow engels are better for some reason.Don't know whats wrong with it or how much the repairs are going to cost but it goes into the "shop" next week!!
Thats something I have to think about. My son in law has a little fridge he used to use for camping, said I can have it. No idea what its like except that one of his mates painted it army colours. He's putting power into my van for me soon and with an inverter not sure if that would work or have to go get a proper camping fridge. Its a tiny square thing that I have no idea what it is.
