I like to plan ahead a little bit so does anyone have some suggestions about options for the Easter break (no more than 3 hours from western side of Melb)? I have exhausted the suggestions to my husband so maybe someone from this forum can come up with an option or two. Look forward to responses and suggestions.
There is a place over to our east, can't remember the name but has a large maze and also an animal farm or something similiar. Haven't been there but have heard a bit about it and hope to go one day. Will check my map, I'm sure I marked it on there.
Wandilligong. Between Bright and Mt Beauty. A very scenic area. Mytleford and Beechworth are just above it so would make for a great long weekened.
Maybe an option, will have a look. It is a nice part of our state. Easter is late April and Anzac day is right on the end of the break. So we get the Tuesday as well, I also have an understanding boss so generally tack a few days either side, husband is self employed (no work, no pay) so pretty flexible there too.
Have you been to the Bright, Beechworth area? I remember they used to have an Autumn Festival or something similar around Easter. It will probably be fairly busy though.
Barwon heads is a favourite of mine. But I think the caravan park will, definately, be booked out. The car park on top of the hill is much cheaper, and by the time they kike you out, easter will be over......... Sorry about the spelling.
Hot in summer - cold in winter - autumn lovely - but crowded - there are a few festivals around in autumn - caravan parks get pretty busy - but you can bush camp out on the Buckland, - lots of terrific places - some good caravan parks in Porepunkah - Bright is always busy - Camps 5 book has listings of some really good places - but usually need to get there early (before Friday) - I'm off to Porepunkah end of February, first trip by myself with caravan - bit daunting, but at least I know where I'm heading. Have fun - wherever you go
