Great idea. I hope the roads and facilities are up to it.I am down at the south coast of NSW, having a great time, and catching a few fish. Had fresh bonito for the first time, caught off the old jetty at Tathra, one of my favourite spots. Off to Green cape, tommorrow. Will camp at Botangabee, another great spot. This R& R is great! will post as I go. Bill
We will be in Mission Beach from mid July for 3 months. I know of quite a few fellow vanners who are making a special effort to return to FNQ later this year.

I hope to get to Bowen as have a cousin and her husband from NZ who spend every winter there. They used to stay in Mission Beach but changed some years ago I think for extra work. Haven't seen them for years.

Which park do you stay at? Is it the Top Tourist one in M.B. itself?
Yep, we stay at the park in Mission Beach - Hideaway Holiday Resort - which is directly opposite the beachside council run park. Not cheap but good discount for lengthy stays eg 10 weeks. Can be a bit cliquey but we make our own friends ....

You're right about the Hideaway not being cheap but it is a very well maintained, spotlessly clean, family owned park in a magic location. The owner's father (in his late 80s) takes you to your site when you check in and guides you onto the site with almost millimetre precision.
I've sent you a PM
PS: This would be the only park I've ever been to where I've gone to the amenities and heard a guy in the shower whistling "Nessun Dorma" from Puccini's Turandot! (how's that for class!!!)
