Bribie Island Qld

Can anyone recommend a van park on Bribie Island please seems to be a bit expensive to stay too long in the parks around Brissie

I think that there are only two left on Bribie Is.

The one on Pummice Stone passage (Bongaree CP) is my prefered one with good views over the beautiful passage.  There were lots of available sites when I was there last week.

The other is on the surf side .. short walk to the beach.  (Bribie Is CP  Big4).  Have stayed there several times .. Clean with good facilities.  We prefer views of he water from the park.

The third in the area is Silver Shores.
I have not stayed there.  It is on the mainland (not on Bribie Is.)  Right on the passage.  Might be some good sites there.

A beautiful part of he world with all the  facilities & quiet to with good fishing, kayaking, walking, riding etc.

This may not be what you are looking for, but for a cheap stay, I think about $70 per week either the Redcliffe or Caboolture showgrounds. Have heard good reports about Redcliffe showgrounds, but then I may be biased as I only live about a K away. Redcliffe is handy to everything, including Moreton Bay Caboolture, from my perspective a bit more isolated but only, minutes from town/rail etc. You can have pets at both. Cheers Pete

That sounds spot on petengail, I used to live on the penninsula before I moved to Melbourne many years ago, I didn't realise you could camp in the showgrounds, do you know if you have to book in advance or do u just rock up?  I've tried to find info on the 'net but can't find any also not listed in camps 5

The Bowls Club next door to the park gives special treatment to van park residents. The meals were very good when I was there in '08.
Enjoy.
