I will leave Tassie 8th May, going to Deniliquin and from there across Victoria to the Peninsulars in South Aus across the Nullabor and up to Carnarvon WA. I would appreciate any advice on places not to be missed in South Australia and WA, especially with stays of more than the usual 48 hours. I am tempted to spend summer in or near Albany WA and return to Tassie following summer. Cost to get me and motorhome across the "creek" this year has risen to $581 so staying longer is looking pretty good.
You've made a mistake there J.A. You are actually leaving Tassie 8th April , not May. I know as have it marked on my calender. Sorry to correct you but knew you wouldn't mind.
We stayed at one about 6km west of horsham, we got bogged but should be good now. Best free camp we stayed at was at the Iron Knob hotel. Not a camp site but we pulled in hot and sweaty just after a cold drink. Told us to plug into a 15 amp outlet he has on the bottom of a light pole, allowed us to shower in a aircon unit he has at the pub with no cost. We had tea there along with a few beers and a great night, so pull in and say hi for me cheers blaze
If you're looking at the Eyre Peninsula from Port Lincoln to Ceduna, Sheringa is a coastal camp between Coffin Bay and Elliston. It's a great beach with some interesting formations. I haven't been there for a few years, but I was fascinated. The National Parks have camping areas, but there's a fee of course. The Southern Right Whales are along that Bight coast from June to September. You can camp at Cactus Beach out of Penong. Point Avoid and this area has some great, isolated surf beaches. Look it up in the Camps "bible". Safe and happy travels.

Thanks CG that will be the area I will spend some time in. Found the Free/Budget campsites suggested by our grey nomads and copied many of those too. I expect to have at least 6 months going to and from the West via Nullabor and may stay another year yet! Due to sail 8th April and return 11th October but would love to stay south west of WA for the summer and come back the following year. Ta
you must call in to streaky bay in S.A. catch a few razor fish while your there, also if you are going to carnarvan you must call into shark bay, the drive into it is magnificient,
